5 Ways to Add Stone to your Outdoor Spaces

It’s that time of year: Indianapolis residents have spring landscaping on the brain. And why shouldn’t they? With rising temperatures and spring rains, everyone wants to be spending time outdoors and amping up their homes’ curb appeal. If you too are looking for ways to enhance your home’s exterior this spring, consider these few tips from our staff at Garrity Stone, Inc.

1. Build a retaining wall.

A retaining wall may be functional or purely aesthetic, but either way, with our wall stones, it's going to be a beautiful addition to your existing landscaping. It helps create dimension and add artistic elements to your landscaping design.

2. Create a walking path.

A few well-placed stone slabs make a great walking path through a garden, around the side of your house, or even to the kids' swing set.

3. Add on a fire pit.

If you already have a patio or outdoor kitchen, you may want to consider creating an outdoor fire pit. Fire pits or outdoor fireplaces make spending time outdoors with family and friends even more enjoyable.

4. Get noticed with boulders.

Want a statement piece along a flower bed or your back patio area? Consider purchasing a few boulders. They'll look great, add some character, and will make your kids think they've done a bit of mountain climbing.

5. Accent your steps with limestone.

Are the steps leading up to your home just drab? Consider how you can set them apart with some classic Indiana limestone. This stone product is both beautiful and durable and makes a great addition to any home's curb appeal.
